Until last Thursday I, like most people in this world, didn't give a fuck about Michael Jackson. His music was seldom played on any radio station, music channel, or any other music-related medium. Do you know why? Because Michael Jackson was completely rejected and cast aside by the majority of the world due to the stigma he carried from his child molestation allegations and countless cosmetic surgery procedures.

Now, he's dead and suddenly the entire world is mourning the loss of the man that they had forsaken. As of June 29th, twelve people have committed suicide in the wake of Michael's death (Yahoo News). Now I understand that Michael Jackson was a "pop icon". I understand that he was a successful performer and vocalist. But that is no fucking excuse to take your own life. It's also no excuse to pollute the airwaves with so-called "news" that detail his last hours, his physician, his drug use.

Wake the fuck up. Nobody and I mean, nobody, should fucking care. Great! He died! That sucks. He sold a bunch of records that were apparently pretty decent and now he's dead. That's where it should end. Where does the media get off cramming Michael Jackson this and that down our throats for the next... well... who knows how long? If Anna Nicole Smith managed to stay on the headlines for two months after her death then God knows how long this shit with Michael Jackson will go on for.

What really pisses me off about all of this is that the United States is on the verge of a war with North Korea and is coming close to intervening with the violence and riots in Pakistan regarding the recent presidential elections there and nobody is reporting on that! You know why? Because on a one-hour newscast, there is twenty minutes of Michael Jackson, five or seven minutes of weather in total, maybe ten minutes of sports, and then maybe ten minutes of actual news, commercials permitting, of course.

tl;dr Nobody should care as much as they do about this man. He will always be remembered as the pedophile with the fucked up skin. Stop lying to yourselves about how much you love him and his music. I've fucking had it.
